| Hands-on Safe thinking | ||
| Back | ||
| |
Safe thinking needs you to get involved with the community & life around you. If you accept this, ENGAGE with the 4 L's! |
||
| 1.
Look around you |
2. Learn what is safe
|
3. Level of problem
|
4. Lower any impact |
| Be aware of your environment & identify hazards. Eg Actively look & scan as you walk, so you see the banana skin on the ground. |
Learn consequences. What is a safer work place? Eg Appreciate that a person might slip on a banana skin, shopping receipt or similar |
Consider how serious the problem. Is there a bigger picture? Eg Banana skin is beside live electrical wiring dangling from the roof. |
Within your skills, fix, manage, & educate others
by example.
Eg Pick up banana skin, put it in a bin & stay nearby to warn others about wires, even if you miss your bus or train. |

What would you do if you saw a banana skin on the ground? Are you too proud to pick up the banana skin? Does your 'safe thinking' stop at your workplace gate? |
