Accepting myself

Personal Development   Accepting myself
  Back

Things to ponder on ...
Is what others think of me
more important
than what I think of myself?"

Learn to be independent
of the good opinions of others.

Don't create the scene
you think someone wants of you.

Don't judge yourself Don't compare yourself with others.

When you compare sooner or later
you end up concluding "I am less than"

Comparing sets up a menu
for self -judgment.

When we compare
we give up our life to someone else.
Our thoughts are
our own image
One of the blind spots
we have in our society
is that we don't realise is that
our thoughts about ourselves,
comprise our own self image.!!

It's OK to love yourself Don't operate under the falsehood
that You can't love yourself
unless someone loves you first.
(In other words I must be loved
BEFORE I'm worthy of love.)

Accepting oneself vs change -
A discussion that you can contribute to.

Here's one I've been grappling with.
How can one want to change/progess/improve
or evolve whilst totally accepting oneself as they are???

Have I stumbled upon another cosmic paradox here???

I am wanting to change - but by wanting to change
am I not accepting myself as I am NOW?

I am wanting to fully accept myself as I am now -
but then there is no impetus for growth...
How can one grow and evolve in a positive way
while accepting themselves as they ARE???

Maybe once you truly accept yourself
then the changes don't seem like changes
and growth occurs naturally?

Personally - I am really working on making positive changes in my life, but it's being resisted inside
and feels really hard...

Thoughts anyone???
