Saving water - at work, home & garden

New stuff   Saving water - at work, home & garden

The more that your taps are turned off and not leaking
the more water you will save.

Water flows do vary, but a good rule-of-thumb
is that standard domestic 13mm taps have
a flow of 10 litres of water per minute.

A tap left on for a week will use
between $50 and $100 of water.*
(That's up to $5000 per year for 1 tap).
Across Australia, water is regarded as being too cheap
so the cost of turning on each and every tap
will get more expensive!

* This is based on water costing between 50 cents and $1 for 1000 litres (1 kilolitre) of water.
