| The more that your taps are turned off and not leaking the more water you will save. Water flows do vary, but a good rule-of-thumb is that standard domestic 13mm taps have a flow of 10 litres of water per minute. A tap left on for a week will use between $50 and $100 of water.* (That's up to $5000 per year for 1 tap). Across Australia, water is regarded as being too cheap so the cost of turning on each and every tap will get more expensive! * This is based on water costing between 50 cents and $1 for 1000 litres (1 kilolitre) of water. |
