The Party Basics!
What, why, who, when & where
|
Warnings
and other
bits'n'pieces ...
If someone has
SMS'd the world
about your party
consider instant
cancellation!
Party crashers
are no fun.
Street parties
usually need
Local Government
permission
and typically
a week's notice.
The rangers
can be helpful
with barriers
and other signs.
"Instant parties"
with a bit of
planning, usually
are more
enjoyable without
the headaches!
Families will
usually contribute
to an event ...
but give a bit of
warning.
A week's notice
is usually an acceptable
time period.
Certain relatives
are worth inviting
if only for their
favourites ...
My Mum's
cream puffs are
just excellent!
Make sure
that those people
with food allergies,
like cannot eat
peanuts, do not
accidently get
the wrong foods.
|
Agree on why
you want a party ...
maybe combine a few good reasons.
|
If your work schedule
means being away for a number of
special events, birthdays, weddings anniversaries
family reunions, Christmas Day ...
then tie them together into
a special event. |
| |
|
|
Decide on when,
select an ideal date ...
and maybe agree
on a second option,
as a backup. |
The times for the party
are to be agreeable to both partners.
Maybe it is a good ideal to have a few days
of family time together BEFORE it's party time.
The time of day can also have positive
and negative outcomes ...
choose wisely! |
| |
|
|
Choose
who you both want
to invite. |
Think about
who is invited and what
might happen with too many
'sherbets' under their belt.
The time of day for a party
may affect who you invite,
what they might do and
what is served.
|
| |
|
|
OK, so decide what
sort of event
it is going to be.
This could depend on
what dollars you have,
are the costs to be
shared, and/or
are those coming
to 'bring a plate'. |
Themes can also be good fun ...
like fancy dress, Valentine's Day,
Easter egg hunts etc etc.
Deciding on what sort of event
will also impact on
what time
and what sort of event it will be ...
and this can also change
if a meal .. breakfast, lunch or dinner
all can have different parameters.
|
| |
|
|
There is also the
where factor.
Transport to and from
for yourselves
and/or others,
maybe having the event
at a tourist attraction,
and general convenience
factors can also become important.
|
|
Making it all happen (Some of the How stuff)
 |
If you want something easy, consider a BBQ,
(even a classic 'sausage sizzle' with onions)
plus a range of sauces, buns, salads,
paper napkins etc.
If having alcholic drinks, take care of your guests and serve
appealing snack and finger foods,
and also have water plus non-alcholic drinks conveniently available.
Oh yea ... have a good time!
