Common start point

A lot of people
do understand, but ...
yes, some are still
to get the word!

Do you dread waking up ... to another day of pain?
Do you feel defeated, abandoned, and have no hope?
Do you feel like no one understands what you are going through?

Try to be open
and sincere

The strength you need
maybe as close
as the next person
you talk to!
Hope for the best,
plan for the worst.
Good things will happen if you expect them!
You don't need to do it alone - ask for help.

Use all your resources,
families, friends & health professionals.
If you believe they can help you ... then it's worth asking.

Be always positive
in your living strategies

Remember the
old Chinese proverb
about the journey
of many miles
starts with the first step.

Take one day at a time.
Don't look to far ahead; as that can cause you to feel hopeless.
You need to accept what is happening to you.

Also you will need to talk about what is happening to you.

And do not forget
the emotions,
deal with any loss,
so you can build
stronger & better!

They say that
the night is darkest
and coldest
just before
a new bright & warm dawn

It's important to walk through emotions
of grief, anger and frustration,
with your inability to control the situation,
and the pain of loss, of what was, and what could be.

You can feel isolated and alone,
so you need to cultivate a positive attitude and outlook.

Need to learn about your condition
and how your body reacts,
so you can take action to minimize disability
and complications.

Some days you will need to take things easy,
need to have new and different expectations for yourself,
things won't be the same as before and that's okay.

Try not to be hard on yourself,
just take one day at a time,
and tomorrow may be better!

Once you can accept how things are,
and what you can do to help yourself,
life gets a lot easier for you!

Remember there is always light at the end of the tunnel!
