Grandparents can make a difference
to their grandchildren's lives. Grandparent-grandchild bonds are one of the strongest! Grandparents have a wealth of experience, to offer grandchildren. It is through a grandparent-grandchild relationship, that the grandchild is given a rich link with the past, and the grandparent a vital extension into the future. |
| Close by ... | If grandparents live nearby, they may be asked to visit at a convenient time, baby sit a child, or the child may be asked to come and stay a night or two; these times will be very special for both the child and the grandparents and leave good positive memories! |
| When families live far away, it's a bit harder to be able to see each other regularly; but both families can e-mail, or phone on a regular basis and the children can tell their grandparents what's been happening in their life, and just chat with them. Grandparents also like getting 'fridge door' drawings Videos or DVDs can hold invaluable and important events, birthday parties, etc. |
