Teens want freedom - independence, yet still need security of family.

Changing
relationships
Learn to relate to others as a Young Adult, and
take responsibility for your actions, and make more decisions for yourself.
You may feel closer to your friends, going through the same things.
Feelings fluctuate between wanting to  be treated as an adult; & as a child.

Thinking
changes

You may question Parents, Friends, or Society.
Choose own standards, form own ideals, values and opinions.
Learn to listen to others.
Take your time to get to know yourself; what you think about things.
Learn that others have a right to their opinions.
Learn to stick with what you believe is right.
Learn to deal with strong feelings & mood changes (due to hormones)

Home Remember......
Sometimes the changes that happen at Puberty,
can make you feel down and unhappy,
Iit can be scary growing into a "new body".
Tthis is a natural happening.
If feelings get to much for you,
then this is the time to talk to talk to an adult.

As you are changing,
your parents have to cope with the changes too.
Your parents may seem like the meanest in town,
if they say "no", for what you want to do.

Remember, there is no one else that has your
interests and safety at heart like your parents & guardians!
They have been around long enough to know
a few things about you and life,
so listen to what they have to say.
Learn to negotiate with them,
and show that your are growing into a responsible person.

Talk, communicate, means sharing and listening!
