Less screaming kids in cars

Children   Less screaming kids in cars
        Back
The basics:
Adjust car size to suit family size with seat belts / capsules for all.
(One of the many costs of more kids).
(Consider a roof rack for surplus stuff.)

Have pro-active distractions
(Games like: Look for signs starting with A, then B ...,
classic eye spy etc )

Have some emergency snacks in the car
(Low sugar, low carb, high protein - avoid high energy spikes)
(Examples: cold water, lean beef, skinless chicken,
boiled eggs, plain yogurt and fresh fruit).

Have vigorous 10 minute play breaks
every couple of hours.

Minimise
your distractions
in the car
Make sure all people wear seat belts all the time.

When travelling, avoid distractions like mobile phones,
or smoke, change the CD, fix hair, eat, drink etc.

Make sure that the car is safe, easy to drive
and rear vision mirrors are adjusted.

(Safey issues : tyres suit driving conditions, lights are OK,
rips in seats should be fixed, brakes work and
wipers/washers effectively clear a clean windscreen.
