Remove co-worjers from danger
Abuses     Remove co-workers from danger Back

Immediate issues

Chronic joints and
muscle conditions,
sprains and strains,
plus cuts or open wounds appear to
be the major work
related injuries.

Looking to how they
happen, lifting &
pushing plus hitting
or being hit or cut,
not forgetting falling,
covers most of the
ways how these
injuries happen.

The jobs with the most injuries

The third graph to
the right shows the
jobs with the biggest
threats to a safe
and danger-free
occupation, including:

Tradespeople
Production lines
Transport industry
& Labourers.

So what
can we do to
reduce the chance
of putting
co-workers
in danger
?

To do nothing
is 'abuse'!

Use the safety kit, helmets, safety boots, eye protection,
protective gloves & the right clothes.

If you care for your co-worker, show by example & use
that you agree with the safety kit policies.

Be pro-active in keeping the work environment safe.

Maintain safety barriers,
use lockout tags
use only safe tools,
check safety signage,
drive within your skills and the surrounding conditions,
being aware of language differences,
complete and promote induction,
plus watch out for signs of a lack of sleep
or other physical or mental problems.

Australian standards  AS 4360  Risk Management

There are various Government Departments
to police the workplace for safety compliance.
It is more important to be pro-active and look out
for your fellow worker, going that extra step,
not just compliance with the rules.
