Unexplained desire for drugs or drink
New interest in violent TV games & movies
Changes in personal grooming habits (eg not showering)

Immediate recognition Realise that it is never too late
Start fixing things by teaching values that can last.


Circuit breaker steps
1.
Get a good night's sleep to built up your inner strength
 
2.
Meet in a safe place so there is less chance of arguements
 
3.
Quietly listen to all sides and show that you do care
 
4.
Avoid: blaming each other, anger, guilt and sadness
 
5.
Respect each other's decisions, even if you don't agree.
     
Rebuilding steps A. Stop any bullying & violence if present, (isolate if needed)
  B. Resolve any teenage disruptions within the family
  C. Develop more life skills (like parenting skills for parents)
  D. Honestly & fairly deal with any core problems in the family

Home Any attempt to resolve issues
will not be successful
if those involved
do not want to fix things.
